Jim and Jackie Winkowski are Upper Peninsula of Michigan natives with a lifelong appreciation for animals, nature, and the outdoors.  Both are former marathon runners who during snowless months enjoy hiking, biking, and river kayaking, but most of all, spending time with their dogs.

Jim and Jackie have participated in numerous dogsledding and skijoring events. They are members of the Jack Pine Mushers Association, the founding group of the Jack Pine 30 Gwinn to Marquette sled dog race held each February. Their primary focus is recreation and sharing the sport with others.
